Nappies
Here are some of our experiences and some resources that have helped us to make positive choices for reusable nappies

Families investigate real: nappies are real nappies a real option for modern mums?

Myth Busters

1. No pins or origami: Cloth nappies are shaped like disposables and do up with poppers

2. No leaks: Highly absorbent materials like bamboo and hemp, and hi-tech shapes mean re-usables are no more likely to leak than disposables – even at night

3. No sloshing about with dirty water: Today’s hygiene standards recommend a dry pail – just toss bin liner and nappies in the family wash

4. No smell: Flushable liners allow solids to be disposed of at change time, so sitting nappies are just wet (Ok it may smell a little!)

5. No huge cash outlay: Especially if you buy secondhand nappies online. But even if you buy new, nappies that are multi-fitted to grow with your baby are economical (and if you use them for more than one child you’re laughing!)

6. Childcare won’t accept real nappies: It's probably true for some nurseries and child miners but we have found local ones that do so it's is always worth asking if yours will accept them.

7. No major hassles: One extra wash per 1-2 days will be the least of your worries!
